I am He, Jesus Christ, whom they crucified, but see, now I am risen and live forevermore. I am He that shall restore the outcasts, the lame and the lowly in state into a strong nation. The nations shall know that I am the Alpha and Omega and I am the Restorer.I will use you mightily to raise the standard of my Righteousness and Holiness before kings and governors of the nations, and you shall be called the Preacher of Righteousness. I will use you to root out and pull down, to build and to plant. Many mighty signs and wonders I will perform through you, and the fear of God will again return unto the nations.
In 2008, Thomas Tirivangani, inspired by the Holy Spirit, founded Christ’s Voice of Restoration Ministries with just four members: himself, his wife Colline, and sons Blessing and Thomas Jr. Starting in their apartment at 301, 15 Albright Rd., the church later moved to 749A Barton Street and then to 429 Barton Street E., where they operated the Seed of Faith Thrift Store along with a food and clothing bank.
In 2013, the church moved to its current location at 200 Sanford Avenue, a historic building first established in 1906 for the Barton Street Methodist Church. The location had since housed the Livingston United Church and, later, the Korean Presbyterian Church. Positioned in one of Hamilton’s most challenging areas, the church seeks to spark a revival, attracting visitors from far and wide.
On January 21, 2014, disaster struck as a multi-alarm fire erupted in the church, resulting in a loss of over $500,000 in inventory. Though the six people inside, including Tirivangani, escaped safely, firefighters faced difficulties extinguishing the flames due to false walls in the building. Despite this setback, and the additional challenges brought on by the pandemic, the church has worked tirelessly to rebuild and continue its mission to serve the community.
